profit for peanuts

its no secret that tescos are a very powerful buying group in the fmcg/retail sector. This is something I feel very strongly about - 2 billion profit? For all their 'tescos in the community' and 'computers for schools' initiatives and so on, how healthy can this be. We find ourselves buying into an empire, yet while tescos and the large multiples have the buying power to offer cheap alternatives to any products that we could ever want, we need to challenge this notion that cheap=good. A saving for us the user, yes, but who is losing out down the line? We have the power to speak with our purchasing. See more about this on the blog of a good friend of mine www.ohtheerustedsatellite.blogspot.com
